Somya Thakur is a disability rights activist and a beauty pageant titleholder from India. She was crowned as Miss Wheelchair World India in 2022, which paved the way for her to compete in the prestigious Miss Wheelchair World pageant.
Somya was born with a rare genetic disorder called spinal muscular atrophy, which has left her wheelchair-bound. Despite her physical limitations, she has never let her disability hold her back & has risen as a motivational speaker. She has worked tirelessly to promote inclusivity and accessibility for people with disabilities.
She became most popular wheelchair model in India after her participation in the Guniess world record fashion show conducted by Dhiman Entertainments by Shobhanaa Dhiman.
Somya is currently serving as a mentor for the Miss Highness show in Hyderabad, where she is helping young women to build their self-confidence and self-esteem.
